Unit 12 eat
Period 74 Lesson 4 A3- 4
A. Aims: By the end of the lesson, student will be able to practice reading a text to know how to make a meal.
+ teaching aids poster.
+ anticipated problems.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: chatting (about meal).
- Who prepare meals for you?
- Do you like cooking?
- How many kinds of food do you have for each meals?
II. Pre – reading:
1. Vob:
(to) slice: thái thành từng lát mỏng (picture)
(to) stir-fry: xào
(to) add: cho thêm, bổ sung (explain)
(to) boil: đun sôi, luộc
(to) heat: hâm nóng, làm nóng
a bowl: cái bát (visual)
soy sauce (nuc): nước xì dầu (trans)
- have students copy down
- checking: Listen and number
T reads: boil-> slice-> heat-> bowl-> add-> soy sauce-> stir-fry
2. Ordering statements.
a. First, she sliced the beef.
b. Then, she cooked some rice and boiled some Spinach.
c. Hoa’s aunt cooked dinner.
d. Next, she sliced some green peppers and onions.
e. And then she set the table and the family sat down to eat.
f. After that, she stir – fried the beef and vegetables.
g. Finally, she sliced the cucumber and made cucumber salad.
- Write these sentences on poster.
- Ask students to work into 2 groups.
II. While – Reading:
1. Correct ordering predictions:
- Ask students to read the text and correct their ordering.
Give key: 1.c; 2.a; 3.d; 4.b; 5.f; 6.g
2. Comprehension questions .
a. Who cooked dinner?
b.What did Hoa, her aunt and uncle have for dinner? Write menu.
Key: a. Hoa’s aunt cooked dinner
b.They had cucumber salad with onions; boiled spinach; stir-fried beef with green peppers and onions
3. Gap – fill:

Period 76 Unit 12: Let’s eat
Lesson 4: Our food (B1 – B4).
A. Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practise listening for detail information to understand why Ba had to go to the doctor’s and further practice in food and diseases vocabulary.
+ teaching aids: posters, pictures, tape
+ anticipated problems.
B. Procedure:
1. Warm up: mime
-Students in turns, select a piece of paper with a feeling writen on it. Suggested feeling: cold, hot, angry, headache, stomachache.
- Students mimes the feeling in front of the class and ask “what’s the matter with me?”
2. Pre – teach vob:
terrible (adj): ghê gớm, khủng khiếp = awful
something (pr): vật gì đó (trans)
also (adv) cũng (vậy)
dirt (n): bụi bẩn, bụi đất
dirty (adj) bẩn (anto. clean)
